How to personalize your go.uconn.edu page
Go.uconn.edu brings together your UConn accounts, announcements, and news on a single page. You will also have access to helpful content such as weather reports, world news, To Do lists, and more!
Personalizing your go.uconn.edu page will allow you to select what portlets you would like to view and where the portlets are placed on your page. To get started, follow the steps below.
- Log into go.uconn.edu using your UConn NetID and password. If you don’t know your NetID or need to reset your password, please visit: http://netid.uconn.edu/
- Begin personalizing your page by selecting additional content you would like on your go.uconn.edu page. Click “Customize” in the upper-left corner of the page. All available portlets are listed in the window that appears. You can choose to add modules to the left, center, or right column. Note that you can add multiple modules while in the “Customize” window. When complete, click “Close” in the upper-right corner of the window.
- To move a portlet on your go.uconn.edu page, just click on the square target icon
on the portlet’s left side and drag it to your preferred location.
- Once a portlet appears on your go.uconn.edu page, you can Edit Settings (where applicable) by clicking on the gear icon.

Set go.uconn.edu as your default homepage
To set your go.uconn.edu page as your browser's homepage, follow the steps below.
For Internet Explorer:
- Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
- Make sure you're on the General tab.
- In the Home page section, type http://go.uconn.edu in the text box.
- Click OK.
For Firefox (Windows Vista/XP):
- Select Options from the Tools menu.
- Make sure you're in General preferences (Main in Firefox 3.x.)
- In the Home Page section, type http://go.uconn.edu in the text box.
- Click OK.
For Firefox (Mac OSX):
- Select Preferences from the Firefox menu.
- Make sure you're on the Main tab.
- In the Home Page section, type http://go.uconn.edu in the text box.
- Close the window.
For Safari:
- Select Preferences from the Safari menu.
- Make sure you're in General preferences.
- In the Home page field, type http://go.uconn.edu in the text box.
- Close the Preferences window.
For Netscape:
- Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
- Click on the Navigator category.
- In the Home Page section, type http://go.uconn.edu in the text box.
- Click OK.
For Opera:
- Select Preferences from the Tools menu.
- Make sure you're on the General tab.
- In the Startup drop-down menu, select Start with home page.
- In the Home page field, type http://go.uconn.edu in the text box.
- Click OK.
Add, delete, and move portlets
- Click “Customize” in the upper-left corner of the page. Check to make sure that you are on the “Add Content” tab. All available portlets are listed in the window that appears. You can choose to add portlets to the left, center, or right column. Note that you can add multiple portlets while in the “Add Content” window. When complete, click “Close” in the upper-right corner of the window.
- To move a portlet on your go.uconn.edu page, just click on the square target icon
on the portlet’s left side and drag it to your preferred location.
- To delete a portlet, click on the small ‘X’ in the upper-right corner of the portlet
. The page will ask you to confirm that you want to close the portlet. Click “OK”.
